How to set up Instagram Insight for realtors: 4 easy steps
Compared to Facebook, LinkedIn, and even Twitter, the National Association of REALTORS® says fewer realtors are using Instagram at only 14 percent. And yet, Instagram is the fastest growing social media platform in the world, and Inman News strongly suggests realtors start using it. With a tool like Instagram at your fingertips, you could give clients a better look at your business behind the scenes, upload easy-to-view video tours of your properties, and share listing photos to a photo map so clients can see where you've sold.
If you haven't set up an Instagram profile for your business yet, here's where to begin. Like Facebook, this only takes a few minutes:
1. Get a profile.
To create a new Instagram profile, you'll need to download the app. You can view your Instagram feed online, but you can only use the app to sign up and post photos. If you already have the app, you can convert your personal profile to a business profile by making it public. Then tap on the gear icon in your profile to go to Settings and select "Switch to Business Profile." Choose your Facebook page to link to your Instagram profile when prompted. A Facebook page is required for an Instagram business page, and Instagram will give you an option to create one if you haven't already. (You can set up your Facebook page using the tutorial in Part 1.)
2. Review and publish.
If all your contact information looks good, and your Facebook page is connected, click "Done" when prompted to activate your Instagram business profile.
3. Begin posting.
Similar to Facebook, your Instagram business profile will have value only when you use it. Make sure when posting to use hashtags that are relevant to your industry or local market to make it easier for new clients to find you.
4. Get acquainted with Insights.
You can find Instagram Insights on your main profile page. Click on the bar chart icon at the top of your profile, above posts and followers. There, you'll find information on who has reacted to your profile within the past week, as well as followers gained or lost. Under Insights, Impressions will tell you how many times your ad appeared on user screens, Reach will show how many new visitors saw your posts, Website Clicks will indicate how many times the links in your bio were clicked, Profile Visits will show the number of times your profile was viewed, and Followers will measure the number added or lost within the past week and the average times of the day your followers use Instagram.
