Independent Bankers Association of Texas Recognizes Roscoe Banks Community Service Achievement

ROSCOE, Texas—The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT), the largest state community banking association in the nation, recently honored Cornerstone Capital and Roscoe Bank in Roscoe with a Best of Community Banking (BOCB) Award. The banks received a Gold Eagle Award in the Community Service category for their “120th Celebration Giveback Program” entry.

In 2026, Roscoe Bank marked its 120th anniversary with a year-long commitment to giving back to the communities it has served since 1906. Through its Neighbors Helping Neighbors – A Year of Giving Back program, customers and community members across Bastrop, Fisher and Nolan counties are invited to nominate local nonprofit organizations for monthly recognition and financial support.

Each month, two organizations are selected through a random drawing, one from Bastrop County and one from Fisher or Nolan County, with each receiving a $1,200 gift. By the end of the anniversary year, the program will have distributed a minimum of $28,800 to 24 local nonprofits. Selected organizations also receive additional exposure through Roscoe Bank’s website, social media channels, and in-branch displays, helping bring greater visibility to their work and mission.

The anniversary celebration extends beyond financial contributions through Roscoe Bank’s 120 Acts of Kindness initiative, which encourages community members to share everyday acts of generosity using #Roscoe120GiveBack. Together, the initiatives turn the bank’s anniversary into an opportunity for customers, employees, and neighbors to recognize and support the organizations and individuals making a difference in their communities.

By celebrating 120 years through service rather than focusing solely on its own milestone, Roscoe Bank’s anniversary program reflects a longstanding belief that strong communities are built by neighbors helping neighbors.

2026 marks the 35th year that IBAT has celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of Texas community banks with the BOCB Awards. Community banks, such as Cornerstone Capital Bank and Roscoe Bank, play a critical role in their local communities. The Best of Community Banking competition is designed to honor local banks for their commitment to helping their customers, neighbors, employees, and community. BOCB Awards recognize community banks throughout the state for their innovation, creativity, and success in fulfilling a specific community or internal need.
