Our Story
Cornerstone Capital Bank is a Texas-based financial services company dedicated to helping families, businesses, and communities thrive.
Guided by a core Mission, Vision, and Convictions statement, the company formed in 2022 through the merger of Cornerstone Home Lending, the nation's premier independent residential mortgage company, and Roscoe Bank of Roscoe, Texas. The union brought together nearly 150 years of collective operating success and created the highest-capitalized new bank in Texas history.
As of the first quarter of 2026, Cornerstone holds $3.8 billion in assets and has raised $2.6 billion in deposits, creating a foundation of stability and resilience through economic cycles. In March 2026, Cornerstone completed the acquisition of Peoples Bank, a leading community bank with branches in West Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Today, Cornerstone operates 17 full-service banking locations across major Texas markets and more than 150 mortgage offices nationwide. Its platform spans community and business banking, home lending, mortgage loan servicing, and home insurance. The company has served nearly 700,000 customers through its family of brands, including Cornerstone Home Lending, Roscoe Bank, Peoples Bank, Cornerstone Servicing, and Cornerstone Insurance.

August 2022 Cornerstone Home Lending receives regulatory approval to complete Roscoe Bank acquisition. The merger will create Cornerstone Capital Bank, the highest initially capitalized new bank in Texas history.
About Roscoe Bank
Theodore Roosevelt was President of the United States when Roscoe Bank first opened its doors for business on December 6, 1906, in Roscoe, Texas. Roscoe Bank opened its second location 90 years later in Sweetwater, Texas. The bank’s third branch opened eight years later in Bastrop, Texas.
The expansion into Bastrop was driven by the bank’s strategic goal of diversifying assets. This strategy strengthened the Nolan County branches, resulting in an average annual growth rate of almost 9% since 2003, a tribute to the dedication of the bank’s exceptional staff.
Roscoe Bank specializes in convenience banking, offering expanded business hours as well as same-day credit on deposits made by 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. The bank invests in the latest technology for online and mobile banking. Roscoe Bank customers can also enjoy a full suite of free services.
March 2026 Cornerstone Capital Bank completes another milestone acquisition, combining with Peoples Bank.
About Peoples Bank
Peoples Bank was established in 1999 when a group of local investors, led by Larry Allen and Todd McKee, purchased Lorenzo State Bank in Lorenzo, Texas. The leading community bank operates across 13 locations in West Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including branches in Lorenzo, Lubbock, Nazareth, Post, Princeton, Seminole, Seymour, Shallowater, Slaton, and Whitney, with a loan production office located in Frisco.
Peoples Bank merged with Cornerstone Capital Bank in March 2026. The partnership has enhanced the company's ability to offer exceptional products and industry-leading technology, while maintaining the personal approach that defines it.
